If you like to be on the water, how about working on the water?

Many RYA courses can be commercially endorsed. We also offer Dutch certification, such as for Inland tourist boats and starting qualifications for inland skippers.

RYA Commercially Endorsed certificates:

Level 2, Advanced powerboat, dayskipper and yachtmaster certificates can be commercially endorsed which allows you to take paying passengers onboard of vessels that operate under MCA rules. (Not on Dutch registered yachts)
For a commercial endorsement the following certificates are needed:
- a valid First Aid certificate
- a valid Sea Survival certificate
- a GMDSS Marine Radio certificate, such as Marcom-A (GOC), Marcom-B (ROC) or the one day SRC
- the online PPR course, which we offer if you book your practical course with us
Advice :
- if you have solid plans for larger yachts, it makes sense to do the 5 day GOC / Marcom-A training. We do not offer that, the Dutch EZS is a good and unique school.
- also, consider doing a 5-day STCW Basic Safety training for First Aid and Sea Survival as it mandatory on the larger megayachts. We do not offer Basic Safety courses. A Basic Safety is valid for 5 years, it might make sense to do the one day First Aid and Sea Survival above first.

RYA Tender Operator

This course focuses on the carrying of passengers onboard during day and night. Practical pilotage training includes sessions on radar, AIS, and electronic screens. A very good next step from the RYA two day Level 2 training. We are rigging a purpose build RIB and will be able to offer this course again end of 2023.

Dutch certificates:
- The new European Union "Deksman" training is a three day introductory course about safe ways of moving around an inland waterways cargo of passenger ship. We can teach this training in Dutch and English.
This is not a British RYA training, although you will also receive the RYA Sea Survival certificate as an additional bonus during English spoken courses.
After this training you can apply for the official EU service booklet.

- Tourist boat certificate
Through our partner Vaarplezier we can offer the Dutch spoken tourist boat skipper certificate. This will allow you to skipper in limited sailing area's, such as Amsterdam, Leiden, Rotterdam and more. it is an excellent way to get the required 4 x 180 days of qualifying time for the Groot Vaarbewijs. For more information, see https://rondvaartschipperworden.nl/
This certificate scheme is completely separate from the British RYA / MCA so we cannot offer crossovers.

NauPro
The Dutch Klein Vaarbewijs allows commercial operation up to 20 meters, up to 12 paying passengers. It is however a theory-only certificate which leaves an employer vulnerable in case of accidents or damage. Under the Dutch Arbo Rules an employer has a duty to make sure that all workers are trained to a sufficient degree for the tasks involved. The NauPro certificate is a multi day training in the use of small boats and associated equipment. It includes a practical fire drill and a waterpool session with lifejackets. For more information, see www.naupro.nl
The RYA Level 2 training is part of this course, the NauPro itself is not recognised by the MCA nor RYA.
